TRMC12: Thank You

Andrew Young News 0 13

The Ted Rogers Management Conference 2012 Committee would like to thank everyone who attended, participated and supported this event.

Thank you to our generous sponsors who helped make the conference possible and for allowing us to continue to be one of the most innovative and prestigious student-run conferences in Canada.

A special thank you to our knowledgable and insightful speakers who took time out of their busy lives to share their stories, their Inner Drives, and for motivating us to do what we love and strive to achieve our best. Also not to mention our event partners and our wonderful photographers and videographer who have documented the conference this past weekend.

To our delegates, We cannot thank you enough for attending. Your applications have demonstrated the amount of sharp, ambitious and talented business students that reside in Canada. Thank you for making this event filled with spirit, laughs, lifelong friendships, and for a great time!

This year’s theme centred around your Inner Drive, remembering the importance of your I.D and the impact it has on shaping your future. We hope that you were able to take the advice of our speakers and work towards how you’ll leverage your I.D to transform your personal and professional life starting NOW in your undergraduate career. If you haven’t yet answered the question “What’s your I.D.?”, it is never too late to find your passion, drive or even pick up the complicated pieces that make up our lives and mould them into something better and stronger. Follow your instincts, take the risk and along with your I.D., don’t forget about the emotional drive which is the fuel behind all of what you do!

“If my dad had lived a normal lifespan, I am sure I would not have had that emotional drive. And just driving to make money is not nearly as strong as an emotional drive. This is proven time and again. If your drive is simply to make money, it peters out after a while. It is not sustainable like an emotional drive. – The Late Ted Rogers, GLOBE AND MAIL

We hope that you all had a chance to network with each other and with some of the industry professionals. We heard that some of you have follow-up meetings with some of those professionals! We showed you the diversity found at Ryerson through our Multicultural Expo, you learned about the Ted Rogers School of Management’s work in Dago, Kenya and you had the chance to showcase some of your ideas through the case competition. Once again, congratulations to the winning teams!

The night events and gala with all of you were nothing short of amazing and the energy was incredible!

We would also like to congratulate our TRMC I.D. Challenge winners, early bird registration ticket winners, best dressed Geek and Geekette, and raffle winners!

A very BIG thank you to all of you who participated in the silent auction. Together we raised $10,000 for the Herbie Fund.

Please write to us, find the committee members and delegates on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn through TRMC Connect. Post your pics and stories in the “I went to TRMC12” group. We would love to see all of you back at TRMC’13. Best wishes and congratulations to all those who are graduating this year!
