TRMC is ready to challenge its delegates this year by showcasing a new and innovative case competition structure. Teams will be tasked with realistic business decisions and pushed to the limits as they try to solve the question: What is the next emerging industry? Through each round – Pitch Competition, Team Presentation, Live Auction and more – delegates will face tough decisions that will have a direct impact on their team and possibly their competition. The case competition stretches throughout all three days of the conference as each round will be judged separately resulting with a cumulative score. This case competition will bring out the competitive nature of the real business world and is committed to challenging TRMC’s delegates like they never been challenged before. Only one question left, are you ready to be crowned as TRMC’s case champions of the year?
|12:00pm||30th Annual Ryerson Business Forum
Traditionally one of the marquee events of the Ted Rogers School of Management, the event has become incorporated into the Ted Rogers Management Conference, and is the feature event of the conference. In its basic form, it consists of a plated lunch and guest speakers, experts in their field, invited to share their experiences and knowledge with delegates.
In its 30th year, the Ryerson Business Forum (RBF) has found its way to the forefront of business discussions and has been the marquee event of TRMC. Renowned global thought leaders are invited to the panel and discuss a variety of topics and are encouraged to share their unique insights. Held over a grand luncheon, TRMC’s delegates are joined by faculty, staff , and local community leaders. The goal of the RBF is to set the stage for global thought leaders to discuss strategic planning in their respective industries and provide their insights. It is also meant to challenge students’ knowledge & business acumen by discussing the future of business and how they think it will change.

Enjoy the taste of Toronto’s cultural dishes accompanied with a showcase of multicultural entertainment. It is a time to celebrate and embrace the diverse culture that each individual brings to our beautiful country!
This will be held at a surprise venue and will be exclusively TRMC delegates only.
|8:45am||TRMC Startup Summit
The inaugural TRMC Startup Summit is a team competition organized by the Ted Rogers Management Conference, Digital Media Zone and OneEleven. In this Shark Tank-style competition, the Summit provides student entrepreneurs across Canada with a stage to pitch their early-stage startups in an opportunity to win venture capital. While the Startup Summit is open to teams attending TRMC as delegates, it is also open to non-delegates who wish to only participate in the competition. Teams must first pass preliminary rounds to qualify for the Summit. Further details on the competition structure and how to register to compete will be released in late-November.
|10:00am||Case Competition – Presentations|
For the second year in a row, TRMC is hosting another panel in its cadre of events. There are four more panelists discussing topics moderated by an engaging speaker. The panel presents topics of discussion in relation to innovation in a broad sense. With the rapid change in every industry and sector, there are many innovations to talk about. Additionally, panelists will discuss how to ride the wave of innovation positively and share their insights on how attendees can leverage these in their endeavours.
|6:00pm||Ted Rogers Memorial Gala
The black-tie affair is dedicated to honour the contribution and achievements of Ted Rogers. The eighth annual Ted Rogers Memorial Gala will be hosted at Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, one of Toronto’s premier venues. As you bite into your delicious meal, you will be able to enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Ontario.
The Gala will be highlighted by an inspiring keynote address that will aim to encourage delegates to leverage their newly gained knowledge and experiences from the conference to take innovative action in their lives.
